Absolute Liability

absoluteTitle: Absolute Liability (Southern Fraud Thriller 1)
Author: JW Becton, Jennifer Becton
Kindle edition, 275 pages
Published 2011

Meet Julia Jackson. Apparently, she’s been abducted….

A woman is taken at gunpoint from the downtown office of Southeastern Insurance, and the police believe the victim is Special Agent Julia Jackson. Only it isn’t true.

Now, with the help of her new partner Mark Vincent, state fraud investigator Julia Jackson must find justice for the woman who was taken in her place.

As Vincent and Julia begin to unravel the multimillion-dollar frauds that led to the abduction, they encounter a cast of quirky characters, one of whom will go to desperate lengths to hide a deadly secret.

Things only become more dangerous as bodies begin accumulating around town, and Julia must discover the truth before the abductor comes to rectify his mistake.

An abduction gone wrong & a mistaken identity cost the lives of people related to Julia Jackson’s line of work. She’s an insurance fraud investigator and it seemed like she may have pissed off some people with their insurance claims. With the help of hot and manly Safety & Personal Defense Specialist Mark Vincent, Julia needed to hide somewhere else to protect herself and her loved ones. It’s no easy feat, but she had to do it. And what better way to feel more secure and safer than to hide in Vincent’s sanctuary, right?

This is one interesting “whodunnit” mystery novel that doesn’t involve romantic plots. Oh yes, something new for a change. I like the rapport of the two main characters. They’re partners at work but aren’t really involved with each other. Together they solve the mysteries surrounding the “abduction” of Julia and death of another.

I’m now a fan of Jennifer Becton! She actually had me wondering about the abductor throughout the story, although the excuse of an accomplice was a dead giveaway. I’m a big fan of mysteries and suspense reads, so I highly recommend Absolute Liability; it is an absolute read!
