WWW September

Happy Wednesday! My first WWW for September. Actually, I can no longer remember when was the last time I did a WWW, so now I’m catching up with the rest of you.
Okay, so here’s my WWW  for this week.  WWW Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?

• What did you recently finish reading?

• What do you think you’ll read next?

Okay, so here are my answers for this week:

CURRENTLY READING:

simone1

Simone: Adventures in Dating (Book 1: The Billionaire) by Riley J. Ford

This is a short story, a part of a 5-book series by one of my favorite authors, Riley J. Ford. I’m already familiar with the main character, Simone, because I’ve met her already in Ford’s other book, Carpe DiEmily, a hilarious bucket-list of sorts story. You can find my review of Carpe DiEmily here.

I’m on the first two chapters now and I’m already excited to know more about this Paul Walker look-alike. I’ll post a review for this book as soon as possible.

And now, let’s go to:

THE BOOK I RECENTLY FINISHED READING

ADAM’s LIST by Jennifer AnnAdamsList

I had my hanky, actually while reading this book. It is a heartwarming tale of love and survival. Adam and Jewels are both damaged by their past and have to endure living in the present, not knowing what their future holds. Thanks to Xpresso Book Tours for giving me an ARC of Jennifer Ann’s debut. My review can be found here: Adam’s List

P.S – The book cover of Adam’s List is really hot, I love it!

And lastly, WHAT TO READ NEXT?

intern I plan to read Brooke Cumberland’s The Intern: Volume 1. This book came highly recommended by one of my favorite authors (again!) Felicia Tatum. It’s a three-part romantic suspense serial, not suitable for readers under 18. Which is the stuff that I should be reading since I am already way past 18 years old. So excited to read this one!

How about you, friends? What are the books that you’re reading this week, and the ones you’re excited to read in the next few days? I hope you’re all gonna have a wonderful week ahead 🙂 Happy Wednesday!

CURRENTLY READING

sellingSelling Scarlett by Ella James

My cousin told me about this book being free on Amazon so I grabbed it and took a chance with prostitution.. I mean, the subject of the book is about prostitution.. So far, I’m liking what I’m reading, but it’s too soon to tell.

I’ve got the other edition of this book where the cover features a young innocent-looking lady beside a curtain, but when I saw it on Amazon, I liked this book cover better.

RECENTLY FINISHED

hushhushHush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Oh yes, finally! After one year, I finally decided to read this bestselling novel and I was not disappointed! I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews of this book, that’s why I was hesitant to read it at first. And last weekend, while I was cleaning my Filing Cabinet, I saw this really attractive book cover and told myself, you’ve been in the shelf in a year now, it’s time for your pages to fly and soar. So I did. Surprisingly, I liked it! Review to follow soon!

WILL READ NEXT

fallenFallen by Lauren Kate

I know I’ve just finished reading a book about angels, fallen angels and Nephilims, so why read another, you might ask?

Actually, I remember asking (here in my blog) which one should I read first (https://abookwormontheloose.wordpress.com/2013/08/28/www-aug-28/) then I joined a Group in Goodreads – Hush, Hush vs Fallen. I wondered why this two books were being pitted against each other. Most people said, the books have the same storyline. SO I got curioser (is that a word?) and decided to get this book. too. Now, I’ll be the judge if what they’re saying is correct.

Anyway, here are my answers for this week:

CURRENTLY READING:

ALEX (A Rylee Adamson Short Story)

I’ve been reading the Rylee Adamson series this whole week (Priceless, Immune, Raising Innocence, and mos recently Shadowed Threads..) and everytime I finish a book, I require myself to read the next book immediately because the series is so good!

Yep, I love this Shannon Mayer series, I love Rylee’s fast mouth and devil may care attitude. But for now, I have to put a stop on her Tracking and read about her loyal bestfriend werewolf ALEX. I really want to learn more about this 19-year old man trapped inside a werewolf’s body, with a mind of a kindergarten. Really!

RECENTLY FINISHED READING:

As I’ve mentioned above, I’ve recently read Shadowed Threads, the 4th book of the Rylee Adamson series. Seriously, this book kicks ass, not to mention, Rylee, kicks a lot ofOn butt.. One heck of a story, and I couldn’t wait to read the next one!

WILL READ NEXT:

Once I get my hands on the next Rylee Adamson series, I will definitely read BLIND SALVAGE.

Summary from Amazon:

“My name is Rylee, and I am a Tracker.”

When children go missing, and the Humans have no leads, I’m the one they call. I am their last hope in bringing home the lost ones. I salvage what they cannot.

Crossing into Ogre country is dangerous when you’re a polite, respectful gal. Which means I already know I’m in for a wild ride, despite the back up I’ve brought along.

Even when things start to go sideways, and enemies close on us from every side, I still believe we have the upper hand.

How very blind can one person be when it comes to a salvage?

ALTERNATE READ:

Just in case I cannot read the above-mentioned book, I plan to read E.L. Todd’s Flight of Life (Essense Series # 1).

I heard good stuffs about this series. Maybe it’s time I’ll give it a try later. I love the tagline, by the way:

People are good. Sometimes, they do bad things.

Currently Reading:

Eleanor and Park

Two misfits.

One extraordinary love.

Eleanor… Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough…Eleanor.

Park… He knows she’ll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There’s a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises…Park.
Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

Recently Finished:

Anna and the French Kiss

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris–until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all…including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

Will Read Next:

Round and Round

by Jordan Morris

Everyone thinks high school is hell. Students in the town of Tartarus might actually be right.

Mythical mortals once lived at the whim of the gods. A hundred generations later, little has changed. Bastian Vandenberg’s fate as a fifteen year-old is still governed by godlike elders. He finds himself powerless over his feelings for Dora Peterson and Evie Smith. And his uncontrollable best friend Noah is going to get him stuck in detention (if not a youth detention centre.) Round and Round is the story of four students grasping at control of their destinies and trying to break free of their tragic flaws. They uncover a mystery that begins with the disappearance of the school’s most gifted pupils, and goes all the way up to the principal and the head of the school board.

At which point, four teenage mortals take up the task of bringing down the gods.

CURRENTLY READING:

Hades (Halo Book 2) by Alex Adornetto

I’ve read Book 1 HALO a year ago, so I need to catch up with Bethany and her “angelic” siblings before all Hell breaks loose.

The story that Alexandra Adornetto built in her New York Times – bestselling debut, Halo, comes alive in action-packed and unexpected ways, as angels battle demons, and the power of love is put to the test. Here’s a teaser from the book:

Heaven Help Her.
Bethany Church is an angel sent to Earth to keep dark forces at bay. Falling in love was never part of her mission, but the bond between Beth and her mortal boyfriend, Xavier Woods, is undeniably strong. But even Xavier’s love, and the care of her archangel siblings, Gabriel and Ivy, can’t keep Beth from being tricked into a motorcycle ride that ends up in Hell. There, the demon Jake Thorn bargains for Beth’s release back to Earth. But what he asks of her will destroy her, and quite possibly, her loved ones, as well.

Currently Reading:

White Heaven Woman – by Jessie B. Tyson

The author herself gifted this story to me, so I am very much thankful for trusting me with a review. I hope to finish reading this novel within this week. As a teaser, this is about reincarnation, blue ghosts, reliving past memories and dealing with a not-so-normal life.

Separated by Death, Reunited by Fate…

In the year 1899, in Whitehaven, Cumbria, UK, Lady Constance Witherspoon, only 14 years of age, gives birth to twin girls during a tumultuous storm. Lady Elisa (Beth) is born with a diagnosis of demonic possession, while her twin, Lady Sarah, is crushed and killed when the ceiling collapses in the storm.

Finished Reading:

That would be the next book sensation, Megan Curd’s Steel Lily. A very moving tale of love, betrayal, loyalty,

friendship and dedication. I received this book as an advance readers copy from the author herself in exchange of an honest review.

I am telling you, as early as now, that this book deserves a 5 star ***** rating! It is a magnificent steampunk dystopian novel that would literally make your heart skip a beat. 🙂

A review is on the way. I’ll post my thoughts, comments, emotions and everything later. I promise!
Will Read Next…

I am thinking of Tremble by Addison Moore. I really love her writing and I miss her stories so maybe this is going to be the next book I am going to read.

Here’s a summary from goodreads.com

Sixteen year-old, Skyla Messenger is determined to bring back the dead.

For Skyla, being an angel from the coveted Celestra faction hasn’t been easy.

As always, I make sure that my books are organized, may it be on my Kindle or on my wooden shelf. Since it is June, it is the wedding month, and part of my routine is to read based on themes. So most of the books I read have wedding stories.Anyway, here are my answers for this week:

Currently Reading: A Walk To Remember

One of my favorite love stories of all time. The title itself means the long walk to the altar, the walk that was meant for Jamie Sullivan, the walk that she and Landon would always remember.

Truth is, I have already read this novel more than five years ago. But since this is the wedding month and I kind of missed Nicholas Sparks, I decided to read A Walk to Remember one more time.

Recently Finished Reading:

Done with the following:

A Wedding Story by Dee Tenorio
Always the Last To Know by Crystal Bowling
Married By Mistake by Abby Gaines

I’m goona write reviews for each of those stories very soon!!

Will Read Next:

Hmm.. Probably, The Fairy Tale Bride (Once Upon a Wedding #1) by Kelly McClymer fairybride
